Troubadour – a new songwriter showcase

Troubadour is a relaxed, community-led night celebrating original songwriting across West Yorkshire and beyond.

Run by Si (of Captain Wilberforce) and Dan McGlade, the series has grown organically, through shared enthusiasm, word of mouth, and a genuine love of bringing great songs to an attentive audience.

The showcases now alternate between Vinyl Whistle in Headingley and The Triangle in Shipley, allowing each venue to highlight local writers while also encouraging performers to swap locations and introduce their music to new audiences. It’s a simple idea: familiar faces, fresh ears, and an exchange between creative communities.

Each evening features a rotating mix of established performers and new discoveries, creating a welcoming space for listening, sharing, and connection. Entry is free, the atmosphere is friendly, and the focus is firmly on the songs.

More than anything, Troubadour exists to give original music room to breathe and to keep good musical conversations moving between towns, venues, and people.

Sunday 12th April features:

6:20pm Ric Neale

5:40pm Katie Billes

5pm Si Bristoll

4:20pm Kirsty Brannan

4pm Dan McGlade – Welcome / Introduction
